BTW:your NEC is old and slow,it may be time to retire it. Oddly, going into the bios and disabling my dvd drive as boot device (not disabling it all together, just not having it in the list of boot order) solves this problem. Since it is an older burner - if you still have problems try a dvd lens cleaner or different media like Verbatim or made in Japan Fuji, Sony or Maxell.
