Ibm Error 0175 Bad Crc1
When I turn the machine on it freezes after the IBM Thinkpad Logo screen and shows ERROR 0175: BAD CRC1, STOP POST TASK. the content of the eeprom must re-written back\015\012to the chip after correction. I'm almost resigned to junking the motherboard at this stage; my eyesight and fingers are not quite good enough to deal with those tiny feet on the Atmel chip. How can u be of help to me. It was installed with Windows 2000, but I have install XP on it now. If it is not the battery you need go to the BIOS to correct any faulty settings. ...

i have ... However upon further reading of other IBM threads and evaluating the documentation the error relates to the BIOS and IBM have had two attempts to resolve it.... I recently bought this laptop together with the ThinkPad Port Replicator II and cannot find out how to use the FN key + F3, F4, F7, and F11. I can't currently afford a newer model, so I would use this other T21 as a band-aid until I can afford a T60 or T43.
