I'm assuming it is defective, as I just purchased it off eBay, but thought I'd get a second opinion on this. When I take it out, it successfully scans the server. mine, is the network cards that is faulty that causes this bootup error and also using HP computer. Not really, a duff motherboard would give "101 ROM error" not "101 I/O ROM error" The advice from www.hp-store.com/PD_01116--002.aspx is to "Replace failed checksum.
So now yesterday the computer won't boot up and all we get is the 101-I/O error message. Praise the Lord! - for three boots - Booh. Does this mean the whole system board or just a part of it? Bah.
