I've been using Signal Notification by LogicMonkey to display my signal strength on the status bar. I had the widget running today when I lost the signal and it gave me a notificaton (optional) immediately when I totally lost the signal (-115 dBm per widget) and notified My big, clumsy, fingers mash at the screen, and instead of having to retype everything, it automatically comes up with what I intended to write. I'm not saying that it is as good as the newest phones on the big carriers, but the difference is becoming far less noticeable. this contact form
