Contributor 1 Answer Re: HP Photosmart 2610 error message You don't know how much time I wasted trying to figure out what the answer to this problem was. This is a manufacturing issue and I am not sure but I believe there is a 7 year window for "latent defects" that may allow us all to recover from HP. This has to be a major flaw and the company better fix it fast. While the power is out, press and hold the # and 6 key on the printer.

Then all of a sudden it stopped and nothing I could do to make it print. I found your website and discovered the black cartridge wire was hanging from the right wall. I reset the printer in the morning but overnight the error reappears. after the installation is complete, connect ur printer, but do not remove ur cd.
