You will clean the little electronic contacts with that cloth (a clean old style hankie will do). Is there anything else I can do? and try to clean the contacts of the carriage as well. After you put your second junker cartridge into the printer the printer memory has no choice but to dump info on the problem cartridge because of the limited memory storage. The reason is because the latches that hold the ink cartridges in pace don't push the cartridge against the connector all the way so the printer assumes the cartridge is defective
You might have to mess with a little bit to get it tight enough to push the cartridge back but, it'll definately work after that. I am still getting the same 'remove and check . . . ." message. Any ideas what might be happening here? Downloaded trouble shooter-says it detects no problem-I replied 'yes' when asked if I want a test page run, but of course it couldn't print one because of the 'remove and check
I already tried cleaning the contacts, I guess I need to go buy a new black cartridge. Power cycling resets the 'flag' and eliminates the warnings. Respond to this 0 It sounds either like a clogged or dried printer cartridge, or aprinter cartridge recognition problem (usually that gives you some errorcode though). Now that my printer warranty is over, they claim the printer is at fault and they will no longer replace a under-warranty cartridge that gets damaged. Powered down the printer for about 1.5 minutes, powered up the printer, with the same outcome. I have an HP 6110 "All-In-One" Officejet printer. Up till now there's been no problem.

Just put a few scattered drops of plain old isopropyl alcohol (with no liniment or other additives in it) on the hankie.
