My vote is for products that last long enough to need legitimate repairs. If you want to use up your expensive cartridges, they fit in the 920 series and the 940c. Find Solutions, ask questions, and share advice with other HP product owners. You can repeat the process and gradually form the missing part this way.

something about disconnecting the cable from the back of the hp deskjet 3820 and opening and closing the lid a certain # of times??? Recommend changing site name to Printer Pathology or How to tell when your printer is dead, because just as I thought...they arn't fixable. The carriage moves to the center of the product.

You might want to do an actual search on this Printer Repair Site, so you can read about other peoples problems and what they have tried to do to correct the Lift the cartridge out of its slot and discard it. the only thing they have got fromthis printer is money, hungry guys. But would try to keep if I can get to print good again.

The HP campaign used to be called "Remove the empty cartridges from the hands of the recyclers who are saving the earth and costing us profit". I think HP engineered these with a self destruct code! Close the cartridge door.
